This Aurora home was a complete mess prior to the renovation. Green wallpaper, salmon pink walls and yellow bathtubs. Almost original from the 60’s. After completing our design package and finalizing the material finishes, we were able to bring this block home back to life. Luckily during the planning process we found some beautiful original hardwood floors hidden beneath the dated carpet. This was a huge bonus on cost savings. Instead of supplying/installing new flooring, we sanded and stained the flooring onsite.
The house was very sectioned off, as are most old homes. After our engineers inspected the structural work, we eliminated a few walls in the kitchen area. This gave us a great open concept that connected the kitchen, dining room and family room into one big open space in the already small home. The only trade off was one post which landed in the kitchen island. Unfortunately the renovation budget did not allow us to eliminate this post.
White kitchen wall cabinets were custom made for the small space with a stained grey finish on the kitchen island. White quartz counters to finish it off. All in all we would say that this project turned out amazing. From day one to the finish, everything ran smoothly, which is what we aim for. Are you planning a remodel to your current home?
